Our History

Grant Machine and Manufacturing Company was started in 1953, as a shop to meet of rising needs of the industry in Houston and beyond. We have worked with over 1000 companies in our history and have built such items as the mold for casting the fist Minuteman missile to machining parts for the first sub-sea wellhead.

Wireline Drum

Before and after photographs of a wireline drum from a workover drilling rig. Grant Machine originated the technique for restoring drums after wear-down. This drum was built up by submerged-arc welding, stress relieved, remachined and returned to service-saving thousands of dollars for the customer.

Catalyst Feeders

These automatic catalyst feeders for the petro-chemical industry operate electrically and hydraulically. They were specially designed valves can feed any amount of catalyst per minute as needed.

Hydraulic Gate Valve

Hydraulically operated, this 36″ gate valve with a 2″ SS gate was built for US. Corps of Engineers for installation on a dredge boat. The valve was totally made in our shop.

Pile-driving Hammer

This casing for diesel pile-driving hammer was fully fabricated and assembled, ready for operation on offshore drilling locations for driving conductor pipes. It was custom designed to be compatible with customer’s tools.
